When a supermarket giant opens a new store they have already spent millions of pounds. They are not keen to spend any more unless it is extremely cost effective.

A cake does the job of uniting the staff and the customers in a shared experience; the opening of a particular store.

Tesco were keen to make the message 'local', not mass produced yet still branded. We worked with their communications agency to achieve just that.

With a store opening, timing is key; with staff, press, photographers & customers all waiting. Usually there is a cutting of a ribbon then a cutting of the cake.

​Usually we will suggest the cake be delivered the day before, as our cakes stay fresh for 7 - days and don't need refridgeration, not that Freezer space would be a problem for Tesco !

On this occasion we put a single timed delivery to ensure everything ran smoothly and everyone got tasty cake when required.
